AttractMore Web Design
Portfolio
This is my web design gallery where you will find some examples of my recent work. You can click on the images to go to the web sites so you can look at them in more detail.
All of these sites have been built to current web standards which allows easy (and so more economical) maintenance (amongst many other advantages). Making websites accessible to as many people as possible is an important issue for me and this has been a major consideration in the design and development of these sites.
Helping sites to be found by Google and the other search engines is a significant part of my work too. This process is called Search Engine Optimisation and you can find out more by following the link.
Scented Events
This was a redesign of a site for an existing client. The focus of the business had changed somewhat and this required new branding and a simplification of the services offered through the web site. The design reflects the sophisticated calmness of the services provided by Scented Events.
Merton College Oxford MCR
This is a relacement for the pre-existing Merton College MCR website. The new one is much more extensive in terms of content, is easier to navigate and contains more intersting dynamic effects to improve the user experience. In addition, the site is built on Wordpress and all members of the college MCR committee have access to update the site and add blog posts.
Claire O'Brien, Homeopath in Harrogate
A new web site for a homeopath in Harrogate. A clean, professional straightforward design reflecting the client's practice.
Jackie Raw, Homeopath in Barnsley
An unusual but highly effective colour scheme to differentiate this site from other similar sites by other homeopaths.
Jacqueline Beattie, Homeopath in Leeds
This was a refresh of an existing site that was not doing particularly well in the search engines as no search engine optimisation had been done.
Josie Aston, Arts and Health
This new site was built for Arts and Health specialist Josie Aston. As a keen gardener she wanted a site that reflected her interests as well as presenting her professional role. The navigation is unusual and uses pictures from Josie's own garden.
Gloria Kimberley, Homeopath in Leeds
This bright, modern design replaces an older site for this Leeds based homoepath.
Susan Carr

This darker design for Susan Carr, incorporates some of her own artwork and photographs into a striking web site significantly different from those of many other therapists.
Lucy Craske Health and Beauty, Chapel Allerton Leeds
This site was built to replace a previous site that Lucy Craske Health and Beauty had had for a number of years. It is a complete redesign and gives the salon staff the ability to update the pages with new offers and promotions.
Mandy Sutter, writer
This site was built for Mandy Sutter, a writer based in Ilkley. The outstanding feature is the navigation which is based around ths picture on the left. The menu items are on the blackboards. Do click on the image which will take you to the site so you can see how it works. The site incorporates a blog and users have the ability to change the size of the text and to maintain that preference for each visitor.
Braidburn Valley Park, Edinburgh
'… the organisation has a lovely website with photies of the park.'
Robert McNeil, The Scotsman Magazine, 24 January 2009.
This site was built for the Friends of Braidburn Valley Park, a voluntary group that contributes to the maintenance and development of the park in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council. Some of the requirements were to: include lots of images; protect one particular image from being downloaded for copyright reasons (it's on the page displayed above - the second image in the body text); provide access rights to certain members of the group to update the site; have a banner image that changes automatically each month, and to include the ability for each visitor to change the size of the text and maintain that preference.
Spanish Reflections, Cazorla, Andalucia, Spain
A web site designed and built for a group of 3 people in Spain who offer holistic and relaxing breaks deep in the mountains of Andalucia. They had recently taken on this business and wanted a new, bright web site that informed people of the various options available while not being complex.
Honley Garden Design
This client already had a web site which was looking rather old and tired. Also it ranked very low down in the search engines for the necessary search words and he felt he was losing business to competitors. The client wanted a fresh new look which emphasised his particular skills and areas of interest. He was keen to have a gallery of pictures of gardens he had designed.
Annie Riggs, Homeopath in Harrogate
This client already had a web site which was quite old and it wasn't attracting new clients. I was asked to start more or less from scratch but to keep the colours and the circular motif as these featured on her other promotional material. After our initial meeting, where decisions were taken about layout, fonts etc., this site was published around 2 weeks later.
La Triguera, B&B, Cazorla Andalucia, Spain
This client runs a small B&B in Southern Spain. She had never had a web site before but had entries on a number of directory sites. After lots of discussion about the web site design, including trying out a totally different layout and colour scheme, the client chose the current design which has been well received. The client herself is delighted with the site and she continues to send me additional photos to enhance the site still further.
